Ah, one of the best feelings in the world is coming out of the pouring rain and drinking a cup of hot chocolate. Mmmmmm

Last night was one of goodness. I went with Emma to the Mates of State show. I don’t profess to know anything about the independent music scene, but they were really cool. Plus the two members that make up the band are married and just had a baby. So cute! I’ve decided I should learn more about the music I don’t hear on the radio, because, frankly, radio music pretty much sucks. It was so fun to just hang out and listen to good live music. The bar wasn’t full and we could actually sit down. Plus we ran into some guys that apparently had gone to Mountain Pointe even though I had no idea that they had. It was pretty cool indeed.

My cat is attacking my head. I don’t know why. Perhaps she’s mad at me.

ah, thats better. i just got home from the pouring rain and am enjoying a yummy bowl of clam chowda. im so content. so much has happened since i got better. i went to mardi gras on mill with kiki and dana! such fun. even though i was the designated driver it was nice to see the friends because it had been like a week since id seen anyone. there was much drinking and laughing at drunken people. though we got no beads which isnt necessarily a bad thing
i finally finished my self portrait for drawing class. it didnt turn out as well as i wanted but itll do. i need more value change and texture, but dont think im willing to put forth that much effort. the important thing is that i got to wear a cool hat while i drew myself.
i also managed to clean most of my house which gives me space to play dance dance in my living room. oh yeah!
im watching murder she wrote, and let me just say that jessica fletcher is the coolest old lady ever. she can solve any mystery, but if i ever heard she was coming to stay in my town id get my ass out of there fast because death follows this woman EVERYWHERE. she should be, like, an x file.
im also thinking about making a life altering decision, to get rid of my cable. its so distracting and sucks up my free time like nothing else. i spend much less time looking up art stuff and i actually think my work is suffering because of it! i depend on tv WAY too much.

hooray for not going to school, but boo because im sick. yesterday i got really sick, it was like a razor was living in my throat and my head was on fire AND my nose was a never ending river of snot. awesome. so today i decided just to get over this and not go to class altogether, at least nobody in my classes will have to endure this torment. BUT i did learn some interesting things by watching daytime tv all day today and yesterday.
THINGS I LEARNED BY BEING SICK
1) MTV is to music as KFC is to chicken (just think about it) - Lewis Black
2) Sean Austin (better known as Sam the Hobbit) is going to star in his very own made for tv movie on the SciFi channel. Its about time travel and called "Slipstream"
3)my kitchen stinks and i have to do dishes
4) im really poor
5) that kid in "The Omen" is really creepy and Gregory Peck is too.
6) Rich people always get away with it -Law and Order
7) Neuschwanstein castle, in germany, was built by Bavarian King Ludwig II on top of a giant hill. it was thought King Ludvig II was insane and he died a mysterious death. this castle was the inspiration for cinderellas castle in disney land- the travel channel. on a side note, i realized ive actually BEEN to this castle before when i went to germany when i was 15. for more information on nueschwanstein please visit

8) tea makes you pee.....a lot. here is my poem about tea

fiddle dee dee
tea makes you pee
but that's a fine trade
to make sickness fade

well well, i woke up this morning and realized i had time before class to write a little something.
one of my assignments for art this week was to make a book about my self. i got to thinking, "wow, a book about myself would either be almost empty if i could only put in profound things, or chalk full of useless crap if i could only put in snippets of inner thoughts that occur to me every day". but if i did have a book about myself it would LOOK cool no matter the contents. geez, i hope that isnt an inner reflection of myself.
i imagine my book to be made of thousands of pages of homemade paper (green of course) most of the pages would probably be empty, not as in im an empty void, but as in so much of my life hasnt occurred yet that nothing has happened to me to fill those pages with. BUT if i saw a book labeled "miriam" at a store, picked it up, and it was all filled in then maybe i would start getting a little worried. it would either mean my life is never going to change, or im going to die soon, like tomorrow. and that would just plain suck.
the actual book i did about me is a small six page deal with one sentence and a drawing of myself at the end. again, i think the look says a lot more about me than the content, but that might be the point for the beginning artist. who knows?
see? void of the profound.
